Chinese investors of CBanner to acquire UK historic toy store Hamleys for $153 million
C. Banner International Holdings, a Hong Kong based footwear retail firm, is set to acquire Hamleys, a historic UK toy shop with over 255 years of experience, for $153 million.
Founded in 1760, The Hamleys Group manufactures and retails toys and games in the United Kingdom and all over the world. The chain has 11 outlets in the United Kingdom and nearly 50 franchises worldwide. Established in 1995, C. Banner is a retailer of mid-to-premium women's formal and casual footwear in China. As of 31 March 2015, the Group operated a total of 2,306 outlets including both proprietary outlets and third-party outlets.
