Chinese HNA Group acquired Irish company Avolon for $2.5 billion
HNA Group, a Chinese holding with different divisions in aviation, capital, tourism and logistics, has acquired Avolon, an aircraft leasing company, for US$2.5 billion.
Established in 2010 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Avolon is the 11th largest aircraft leasing company in the world. It has an owned, managed and committed fleet of 260 aircraft, including 143 self-owned aircraft, nine managed aircraft, and 108 aircraft obtained through signed purchase agreements. HNA Group is a Fortune Global 500 company headquartered in Haikou, China. It has annual revenues of $21 billion and had total assets of $76 billion with 110,000 employees across the world.
